Afghan Ambassador Called on Queensland Governor
Brisbane – The Afghan Ambassador to Australia, H.E. Wahidullah Waissi, called on HE the Honourable Paul de Jersey AC, Governor of Queensland.
This was arranged during the first official visit of Afghan new Ambassador to Australia.
The Governor of Queensland welcomed the Ambassador to Brisbane and discussed the potentials for greater cooperation within the scope and capacity of this State.
Ambassador Waissi thanked the Governor and paid tribute to the sacrifices of the Australian soldiers made during the services in Afghanistan. He also mentioned about the recent trip of President Ghani to Canberra and upcoming trip of Governor-General Cosgrove to Kabul that marked a new framework of cooperation between two countries.
