Ambassador Waissi is meeting Afghan community representatives in Brisbane
On May 17, 2017, Ambassador Wahidullah Waissi met with representatives of the Afghan community in Brisbane, Queensland, as part of ongoing efforts to strengthen engagement between the Embassy of Afghanistan and Afghan diaspora communities across Australia.
During the meeting, key topics such as consular services, documentation challenges, education opportunities for Afghan youth, issues related to family reunification, and community integration were discussed in detail. Representatives shared concerns faced by Afghans living in Queensland, particularly related to employment, cultural adjustment, and access to support services.
Ambassador Waissi and his delegation actively listened to the issues raised, provided clarifications, and worked collaboratively with the participants to address and resolve many of the challenges presented. The consultation resulted in a number of practical solutions, improved communication channels, and strengthened coordination between the Embassy and the Afghan community organizations.
The meeting was well received and highlighted the importance of regular dialogue to ensure the needs of Afghans abroad are understood and supported, while also encouraging stronger cultural and professional contributions to Australia’s diverse society.
