Official Visit of Afghan Ambassador to Victoria
Melbourne – The Governor of Victoria, Hon. Linda Dessau AC welcomed Ambassador Wahidullah Waissi in Melbourne during his first state visit of Victoria. The meeting took place at the Victorian State Government House in the morning of 22 August 2018.
Both sides discussed opportunities for enhancing cooperation, Afghan diaspora community in Melbourne and future activities as part of bilateral relations. Ambassador Waissi discussed greater bilateral engagement with Australia in the areas of political, security, econonic and people to people cooperation. Both sides exchanged views on upcomign events in 2018 and 2019. She assured her best support for next year’s 50th years of Australia-Afghanistan political relations.
