Distinguished guests, dear friends, fellow Afghans, ladies and gentlemen,

Today, in this house of Afghanistan, we gather not in darkness but in defiance of it. We gather beneath a thousand suns, each one representing a woman, a girl, a dream, a memory that refuses to fade.

Over the past four years, Afghanistan has witnessed one of the darkest reversals of human rights in modern history. More than 1.2 million girls have been barred from schools beyond grade six. Universities that once echoed with laughter now echo with silence. Women who once served as ministers, judges, journalists, artists, and athletes are now confined to their homes—punished for wanting to live, to learn, to lead. The world calls it discrimination or gender persecution. But we, the people of Afghanistan, must name it truthfully: it is gender apartheid. A deliberate, systematic erasure of half a nation.

It is not our culture; it is not our faith. It is tyranny disguised as religion, cruelty masquerading as tradition. And yet, despite this suffocating darkness, Afghan women continue to shine.

They teach in secret. They paint on hidden walls. They whisper lessons to children behind curtains. They post words of hope that travel farther than any bullet or decree. They remind the world that courage is not the absence of fear—it is action in spite of it.

To those women, from Kabul to Herat, from Kandahar to Bamiyan, from refugee camps to classrooms abroad, I say: we see you. You are not forgotten, and you are not alone. Every message written in our Thousand Suns campaign, every note of music performed here today, every act of solidarity in this room, carries your voice beyond borders and beyond silence.

To the Taliban, let me speak with clarity and respect—but also with truth. You cannot govern by fear and call it faith. You cannot imprison women and call it purity. You cannot extinguish the light of knowledge and expect your people to see the future. Power that rests on fear is fragile; it shatters with time. Real power grows from legitimacy, from consent, from justice. The Taliban may hold the guns, but Afghan people, especially women hold the conscience of the nation—and history will side with them.

To our friends here in Australia and around the world, thank you for standing beside the people of Afghanistan when hope seemed out of reach. Australia trained teachers, built schools, and protected lives in Afghanistan for two decades. Your soldiers and civilians made sacrifices that will never be forgotten. But our partnership must not end because the headlines have moved on.

The struggle for Afghan women’s rights did not finish when the last foreign plane departed Kabul, it merely entered a new chapter that demands your continued attention and moral leadership.

Every scholarship offered to an Afghan girl, every visa granted to a persecuted family, every platform given to Afghan voices is an act of resistance against erasure. You are helping to keep alive the idea of an Afghanistan that believes in equality, education, and dignity.

To the Afghan diaspora, you are the living bridge between a wounded homeland and a watching world. Your freedom is not an escape from responsibility it is an extension of it. Through your work, your art, your study, and your service, you show that Afghanistan’s story did not end in 2021. You are the proof that even when the country is landlocked, its people are not hope-locked.

Let us use this freedom not only to survive but to serve to tell the truth when others are silenced, to build communities where others destroy, to teach where schools are closed. Each of us carries a small sun within us; together we can light a sky that no regime can darken.

Distinguished participants,

History will one day judge us not by the wars we fought but by the voices we protected. The future of Afghanistan will not be decided by force, but by education; not by decrees, but by dignity; not by ideology, but by inclusion.

So let this gathering send a message—clear and unbreakable: that the world has not forgotten Afghan women; that the embassies of the Republic still stand as symbols of lawful representation, of humanity, and of continuity;
and that the spirit of our nation remains unoccupied, undefeated, and unextinguished.

We are here to say to the world: Afghanistan’s sun has not set. It is merely waiting for the dawn of justice.

May that dawn come soon. May those thousand suns rise again over the mountains of our homeland.

ګرانو مېلمنو، درنو دوستانو، قدرمنو هېوادوالو، خویندو او وروڼو،

په ډېره مینه او په درناوي تاسو ټولو ته ښه راغلاست وایم. زه له هر یوه‌ مننه کوم چې زموږ بلنه مو ومنله او نن دلته د د ښځو پر وړاندې د تاوتریخوالي د له‌منځه وړلو نړیوالې ورځې او د بشري حقونو د نړیوالې ورځې د لمانځلو په موخه راغلي ياست. ستاسو حضور موږ ته ویاړ راکوي، ځکه دا څرګندوي چې افغانان لا هم یو باعزته، یو موټی او د خپلو ارزښتونو، عدالت او ازادۍ د دفاع لپاره ولاړ ملت دی.

کارزار فرهنگی و اجتماعی ما تحت عنوان «هزاران صدا، هزاران امید، هزاران خورشید تابان» بخشی از آغاز جنبش همبستگی با زنان و دختران افغانستان است که امروز از خانه أفغانستان در کنبرا آغاز میشود.
هدف این برنامه، زنده نگه‌داشتن صدای زنان افغانستان و بازتاب امید، استقامت و اراده آنان در برابر محدودیت‌ها و تبعیض‌های تحمیل‌ شده از سوی طالبان است. در کنار این برنامه، ما کمپاین نمادینی را با عنوان «هزار خورشید» راه‌اندازی کرده‌ایم تا پیام‌های همبستگی مردم آسترالیا با زنان و دختران افغانستان را گردآوری کرده و به نمادی از امید، روشنی و برابری تبدیل نماییم.
این ابتکار، پیامی روشن به جهان می‌فرستد: زنان افغانستان نیز شایسته جهانی پر از آفتاب، آزادی و فرصت‌اند.

این کارزار با حمایت شما، با پشتیبانی نهادهای مدنی، فعالان فرهنگی، دانشگاهیان و دوستان افغانستان از سراسر آسترالیا راه‌اندازی شده است.

پس از اشغال دوباره افغانستان توسط نیروی تاریک طالبان، نظام و مردم ما هر دو آسیب دیدند. فقر و گرسنگی، آوارگی و تحقیر هم‌میهنان ما در کشورهای همسایه، گسترش خشونت و دهشت‌افگنی، انزوای جهانی افغانستان و فراموشی دردهای آشکار و پنهان مردم ما، از پیامدهای مستقیم این سقوط است. امروز، با از دست دادن آن همه سرمایه‌های انسانی و معنوی، دیگر چیزی برای از دست دادن نمانده است.
هیچ تکانه‌ای در تاریخ ما چنین سهمگین نبوده است. اما در همین تاریکی، یگانه جرقه امید، حضور گسترده و فعال مردم ما در سراسر جهان است.

با این حال، رسیدن به آینده‌ای بهتر زمانی ممکن است که با وحدت فکر و عمل برای افغانستان کار کنیم؛ اختلافات بی‌معنی قومی، زبانی و سمتی را کنار بگذاریم، و با دیدی فراتر از گذشته، خود را برای نجات کشور و نسل‌های آینده آماده سازیم. 

د نړيوالې ټولنې شل کلن حضور په افغانستان کې، زموږ د خلکو لپاره د نيمګړيو هيلو يوه دردوونکې خاطره پاتې ده.خو دا درد، پرته له موږ، بل څوک نه احساسوي. د افغانستان ژغورل د هېڅ بهرنۍ ځواک دنده نه ده —دا د ما او تا، د موږ ټولو، د زموږ د ټولنې او د زموږ د بيداره نسل مسئوليت دی.

بیست سال حضور جامعه جهانی در افغانستان، برای مردم ما خاطره دردناکِ امیدهای نیمه‌تمام است. اما این درد را جز خود ما، کسی درک نمی‌کند. نجات افغانستان وظیفه هیچ قدرت خارجی نیست، این وظیفه من و تو است، وظیفه جمع ما، جامعه ما و نسل آگاه ماست. امروز کشور ما در اشغال ایدیولوژی‌ای قرار دارد که بر پایه دهشت‌افگنی، تحجر، تبعیض، و تمامیت‌خواهی استوار است. در مقابل، میلیون‌ها افغان در بیرون از کشور در جوامع باز و پیشرفته به علم، اندیشه و فرصت‌های تازه دسترسی دارند. این موقعیت استثنایی باید به نیرویی برای اعاده صلح و عدالت، بازسازی و روشنگری افغانستان تبدیل شود. فرزندان ما باید بیاموزند که تنها با دانش، خرد و همکاری، می‌توان آینده کشور را ساخت. این خانه، این وطن، را جز من و تو، دیگر کسی آباد نخواهد کرد.

در اینجا، می‌خواهم از حضور و سهم‌گیری پررنگ هم‌میهنان‌مان از سراسر آسترالیا سپاسگزاری کنم از هموطنان ما که از پرت، ادلید، ملبورن، سیدنی، برزبن و کنبرا با علاقه و احساس مسئولیت، قدم رنجه فرموده‌اند. حضور شما در این محفل، نشانه آگاهی و عشق به وطن است.

به‌ عنوان نماینده مردم افغانستان در آسترالیا، باور دارم که مبارزه برای عدالت، برابری و کرامت انسانی زنان افغانستان، مسئولیتی مشترک است — نه فقط وظیفه افغان‌ها، بلکه رسالتی انسانی برای همه جهان.
حضور شما و دوستان آسترالیایی ما در اینجا، گواه روشن این همبستگی است. سفارت جمهوری اسلامی افغانستان در آسترالیا، با برگزاری این کارزار، بار دیگر بر تعهد خویش نسبت به ارزش‌های جهانی حقوق بشر، آزادی زنان، و پیوندهای فرهنگی میان مردم افغانستان و آسترالیا تأکید می‌ورزد. باشد که این هزار خورشید، پیام‌ آور جهانی روشن‌ تر، انسانی‌ تر و عادلانه‌ تر برای افغانستان و بشریت باشد.
