DRIVING LICENCE VERIFICATIONGuidelines for Driving License Verification
Nationals of Afghanistan residing in Australia, New Zealand, and Fiji who wish to apply for a driving licence verification are kindly requested to carefully review the instructions below.
No Need to visit In-person
NO need to visit the Embassy in-person unless identified by the Embassy. All required documents can be sent to the Embassy by the Australian Post (within Australian territory). Please include an Express/Registered return self-addressed envelope along with the required documents.
Residents of New Zealand shall arrange a courier pick-up from this Embassy.

Required documents to be sent:
a) Driving Licence Verification Form. The applicant should complete the driver licence verification form clearly in BLOCK letters. The form can be downloaded from this link.
b) Original Afghan or International Driving Licence. The applicant must send the original version of their Afghan local or international driving license.
c) Result of Theoretical Driving Test. The applicant is required to submit either evidence of passing a theoretical driving/road safety knowledge test or a copy of their learner’s driver license with their application. The driving licence verification process cannot be completed without one of these documents.
d) Copy of Tazkira (Afghanistan ID). The applicant should send colour copy of Tazkira.
e) Colour Copy of Passport’s Bio Page.
f) Proof of Address in Australia or New Zealand. The applicant should make a colour copy of utility bills or bank statement and include it in the postal package attached to the application.
g) Verification by Justice of Peace (JP). All aforementioned documents should be verified by the JP.
h) Express/Registered self-addressed envelope. An Express/Registered self-addressed return envelope MUST be included in the postal package. Without this, the Embassy will NOT be able to return the verified or rejected document(s) back to the applicant. Residents of New Zealand shall arrange a courier pick up from this Embassy. This Embassy will inform the New Zealand-based applicants via telephone for arranging a courier pick-up for their documents.

Fee
The fee for Driving Licence Verification is AU$100.
Applicants must remit the applicable fee by Money Order made payable at the Australian Post Office under the name of Embassy of Afghanistan.
Please note that payment of the fee does not guarantee verification of the documents.
All fees are non-refundable once paid. Applicants should ensure that all information and documents are complete and accurate before submitting payment.
