Step inside the rich traditions of Afghanistan at the Embassy of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan on 18 October. Operating independently of Taliban influence, the Embassy proudly showcases Afghanistan’s enduring culture, resilience, and creativity.

The Embassy will offer traditional crafts, with handmade carpets, rugs, and jewelry available for purchase (proceeds supporting Afghan girls' education and Earthquake affected people). Visitors can explore the 'Afghan Cameleers in Australia' historical corner, enjoy authentic Afghan cuisine at food stalls, and sample saffron tea with complimentary dried fruits.

Cultural highlights include live traditional music performances every hour featuring the Tabla, Harmonia, and Rubab (Afghanistan's national instrument), book launches with author talks, meetings with an Afghan calligraphy artist, and displays of Afghan fashion, traditional clothing, and musical instruments. Interactive experiences include henna sessions, and a human rights panel focusing on girls' and women's education.
