Afghan Ambassador presented his credentials to New Zealand

Wellington - Ambassador of Islamic Republic of Afghanistan, HE Wahidullah Waissi, has presented his credentials as a non-resident ambassador to New Zealand to HE the Rt Hon Dame Patsy Reddy, Governor-General of New Zealand.
The ceremony was organized at the Government House in Wellington and attended by from the New Zealand Government.
HE Waissi conveyed warm greetings of HE Mohammad Ashraf Ghani, President, of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan to HE Dame Reddy, to the Government and to the people of New Zealand.
He made a short speech and said: New Zealand and Afghanistan are separated by long distance, but the hearts and minds of the two friendly nations are getting closer. From a water-locked New Zealand to land-locked Afghanistan, we have shared commitments and common aspirations towards peace, security, prosperity and democracy.
Dame Patsy Reddy expressed her government's support to the stability and development process of Afghanistan and renewed and enduring bilateral relationship between both countries.
The Ambassador was companied by Mr. Mostainbellah Balagh, Counsellor of the Embassy of Islamic Republic of Afghanistan in Canberra.
